DID YOU KNOW………………………?

That singing has never been more popular, with thousands of people meeting in groups, choirs and choral societies each week, up and down the country.

THAT IT IS CLAIMED SINGING IS GOOD FOR

" lifting your spirits

" lowering blood pressure and improving breathing

" making new friends amongst like-minded 'songsters'

" breaking boredom and bad habits like TV and computer addiction!

Hall Green Choral Society, formed in 1983, is a friendly mixed choir (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) and meets on Tuesdays 7.30 p.m. - 10 p.m. in the Chatterton Hall at the Church of the Ascension, School Road.  We sing a wide range of music from sacred and secular choral works by the great composers to spirituals, carols, Christmas music, folk and part songs, songs from shows and musicals and pop song arrangements.  There are usually three concerts a year in Hall Green ( May, July and early December), often with professional soloists.

There are no nerve wracking auditions - you do not have to read music well or have any previous experience, if you are keen to learn with others.  At present male voices are particularly welcome.

Please try us out by coming to one or two rehearsals without obligation. For further information you can contact either Kathy Hudson (0121 777 7722) or our conductor Clive Jones (0121 705 6496).
